It has two hand stitched on pockets on the front.  An old (reprint) photo (printed on cardstock with a backing ) is tucked in one pocket and a feather quill (*pen*) is tucked in the other.  1862 is embroidered on with black embroidery thread on a piece of coffee dyed osnaburg.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is brown civil war reproduction fabric on the paper mache journal.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The journal, 6 inches by 6 inches, &lt;strong&gt;has lots of brown paper pages tucked inside &lt;/strong&gt;where you can write your own recipes, or for newpaper clippings, photos, etc. and also there are two recipes tucked inside that I have printed on coffee dyed paper, one being an old family soup recipe. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Set B ~ Blue Covered Journal with Pocket Set&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The pocket is made from blue ticking with a coffee dyed muslin lining.  A braided strap I made from twine is attached to the journal keeper.  The pocket is made in the same manner as the brown one along with a photo printed on cardstock paper with a backing and a feather quill.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Blue civil war reproduction fabric covers the journal ( receipt book ).  Holding the journal together is coffee dyed string.  Lots of brown paper, along with two recipes I printed on coffee dyed paper, are tucked inside the journal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This set is made with love, hand stitching and attention to detail from my own pattern, from a smoke free home and will be carefully packaged.
